- Happy Birthday to George Malauulu, AIGA Foundation, Dr. Alfred Flores, Assistant Professor at Harvey Mudd College, Tuna Moe, NPIEN Midwest Chapter, Cliff Kusaba, NPIEN Board Member, Manufou Liaga Anoa’i. California Department of Education, Falepule Key Tali, NPIEN Midwest Chapter, Ele Thompson NPIEN Member and Supporter, Jewel Castro, Past Washington/Oregon Chapter President, Keely Toma, Orange County Chapter Member, NPIEN Vice President Ethan Nguyen, Rev. Teleso Satele, NPIEN Golfer, Dan Taulapa McMullin, NPIEN Mentor, NPIEN Honorary Board Member Meghan Blanco, NPIEN Staff Member Nona Palmer.
- Ethan Nguyen, NPIEN Board Vice President and Sean Munley, NPIEN Board Treasurer, appeared on School Talk Story with Dr. T, were also interviewed on LA Island Radio.
- May is the National Asian, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander American (ANHPIA) Heritage Month. The Falanai Ala Role Model Speaker and Mentor series took place for for the Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Lola Finau spoke at Alta High School in Utah, UCLA Professor Juliann Anesi and her student and NPIEN Intern Sammy Fesili at Blue Springs High School in Missouri, and Ben Raju SBA Director and Isabella Collas, UCI admissions at Will Rogers Middle School in Lawndale. Junior Tauvaa, Chief Sales Officer at Visit Anaheim, spoke at Centennial High School and Dominguez High School in the Compton Unified School District. We also participated in the Long Beach City College MANA Meet Your Village event and the Los Angeles County Office of Education Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Event (The Aloha Ukulele Ensemble) 390 participated in the Falanai Ala Program!
- Great to have Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell and his Staff Member Shane Weaver at our Board Meeting on May 28, 2022! The following were approved by the Board:
